Where can PEMF be done?
We come to you! TopLine PEMF offers mobile sessions for your animals’ comfort and your convenience. Sessions can be held anywhere your horse or animal feels safe and comfortable. For horses and livestock, this includes barns, pens, in their stalls, crossties, hitching posts, etc. For dogs, cats, and other small animals, TopLine will happily come to your home. For added convenience, we are also working on partnerships with boarding facilities and groomers to offer PEMF sessions as part of their services.
When should PEMF be done?
Injury/Illness: PEMF can be helpful in recovering from injuries and ailments; however, you should always consult your veterinarian for diagnosis and treatment of any and all injuries and illnesses. Depending on the specific issue we are addressing, PEMF may be used right away, or it may require that we wait before using it. For example, PEMF can aid in the bone repair process after a fracture, but sessions should begin 10-14 days after the fracture.
Pre-Event: If you have not used PEMF on your horse before, I suggest doing your session a few days before your event. This will allow us to assess how your horse responds. Not all horses respond the same way: some are very relaxed by it, while others can become energized. Once we know what to expect, we can create a plan for ongoing show/event preparation to ensure they perform their best.
Post-Event: PEMF aids in muscle recovery as well as reducing the mental/emotional stress that often accompanies travelling and competing. It can be used anytime after competition, including immediately after an event.
How frequently can I PEMF?
How often your animal receives PEMF sessions will depend on the issue(s) that are being addressed. Suggested session frequency can be discussed as part of the initial evaluation, as we create a plan to suit your needs and goals. For specific issues as well as general wellness and maintenance, TopLine offers weekly plans, as well as 5-pack and 10-pack pricing options.

What to expect after a PEMF session?
Every horse or animal is different and may respond differently after a PEMF session. It is normal for your horse to be very calm and relaxed following a session, although some may become energized. Licking, chewing, sweating, and stretching may also continue post-session. PEMF helps to clear the body of toxins, so it is important that your horse has access to plenty of water following a session.
Can my horse workout after PEMF?
Absolutely. Unless it is dealing with an injury or illness that prevents it from being ridden, it is completely safe to ride your horse after a PEMF session.
Can PEMF be used with other therapies or treatments?
Yes! In fact, PEMF is a wonderful complement to most medical and holistic/alternative therapies. It is always crucial that you consult your veterinarian for diagnosis and treatment of injury or illness, however, PEMF can be used in conjunction with veterinary medicine to enhance your horse’s healing, recovery, and overall wellness. PEMF also works great with chiropractic and acupuncture.
